Sun of Day and Moon of night
Aid my task if all be right.
Wind that
breathes on land and sea
Lift these words, if blessed be.
This was composed for Candlemas at Willow Lodge, but of course, could be adapted.
Air and Fire, Water and Earth
Within this circle grant us mirth
Friendship,
wisdom, safety, too
All these things we ask of you!
Even more - to grant
a boon
Of Brigid, here beneath the Moon:
Bless these candles with your
light
Throughout all year, mid-noon, or night.
So for us to use them
well
Whether charm or blessed spell.
And, we too, will do you honor
With
every flame will we think of her
Who gave us blessings to empower
Candles
charged within this hour.
Dear Willow, too, we shan't forget
Our Lodge for gifts and friendship
met.
For too, the power that we hold
does warm, to keep the hearts from
cold.
And so here asking for the power
Of words- the Muse's blooming
flower-
Allowing me to speak my part,
The spell which keeps within my
heart:
Bless these candles! Bright flame rise!
Take our words to Earth
and Skies.
Water echo this refrain
Each candle's use this year, we name.
Gift
our candles with your charms.
These we see within our arms-
Health and
Laughter, Knowledge, too
Of how we say and what we do.
That we be Bright
and Strong and Kind
Within us all, soul heart and mind.
Thank you Brede, and the Four, All, too
And Willow for what we've done
and will do.
This ritual was written to honor Castor and Pollux, the original mythical twins who are now known as Gemini
Castor and Pollux, born of Zeus-
Rape of Leda, eggs of blue.
Twins
came forth, passions and pain,
Pollux broken when Castor slain.
Zeus
took Pollux: "I now have just one-
Come to Olympus to shine in the sun"
Pollux
refused, love so shattered,
Without brother Castor nothing mattered.
Heard
his plea, did Zeus on high-
One day both Hades, one day both nigh.
So
great the love between the two
The strength of both made all come true.
Twins you are, and so within
Twice the pain and joy herein.
Within
each here there lies another
Call it kin or secret lover.
A toast to
both to keep you strong:
To both of you do both belong.
Listen within
and then take heed
(For you both do both you need),
Mark well
the whispers in your soul,
For many paths make up the whole.
So Welcome you, my boys within.
You help me tear and laugh and grin.
My
heart so full each night and day,
My thanks for you in every way.
Welcoming
two I harness your love,
Dual purpose use thereof.
Know you my heart, my
needs you see,
Give me these. So Mote It Be.
In exchange I give you
voice-
Story told, Love and Choice
